You know if I had bought Microsoft stock way back when, or Apple or Tandy.
If I had one chance like THEY had to really make a killing. If I can find that next big thing then the money will start to roll in. Is this the way you think about financial independence. Are you looking for that next opportunity, the mother load? Are you waiting on that one BIG idea that will guarantee your success overnight?
I’ve got news for you. Well maybe not news because you already know. That is not the way it works.
A successful business is not built on one idea or one gadget. Sure you do have a few exceptions, an actual unique invention that is popular and takes off in the market, but those are few. Even then; in most cases, that was not the first invention the person came up with. They may have tinkered for years before making a breakthrough. So, are you an inventor, working everyday on projects, seeking that breakthrough? Or, are you waiting on that BIG idea to hit you upside the head?
What about starting a business? Are you looking for the golden goose? We all are. It’s OK to look, but the question is, are you just looking? Are you just window shopping through life? Watching through the safety of the glass as the new gadgets and business ideas go by.
Oh wait, there’s that idea you thought about last year or was it three years ago. That was your idea, but you never did anything with it. The person that has it now is making millions. Why? Well let’s see, they believed the idea would be successful, they probably worked their tail off to bring it to market and they pushed it to the point where it is making millions.
There is a guy on the internet, a millionaire, from selling swords. You can’t make that kind of money selling swords, but he does. The dumbest idea I’ve seen is a webpage with a single little box on it where people type in what they are looking for, now that’s a dumb idea, it’s called Google. Are you so busy looking and waiting on the goose that you are ignoring what you already have. You may already have that BIG idea. It just needs to be investigated, molded, and pushed to perfection.
The fact is any idea that you have could be your golden goose. Don’t mortgage the house or spend the life savings, but at least research it. Do a little digging on the internet. Everyone tells you, you have to find something that you’re interested in. An idea is just a fleeting thought without your interest, commitment and hard work to make it happen.
Start working those little ideas:
You don’t have to tell everybody about it. It’s your idea and it will work a lot better if you just keep it to yourself, especially in the early stages. This also helps if the idea flops, which it likely. You may go through dozens or hundreds before you find the right one for you. So don’t become so attached to an idea that you can’t drop it. If the idea is not workable then clear it out and move on to next one.

If you continue to work on it, your big idea truly is, just around the corner.
If you are just waiting, your goose will be burnt before you ever know it’s cooking.
